This little book showcases the restaurants, producers and diners in the city that continue to brandish their forks and shake up the food on offer in Barcelona. Seven new businesses have been added to this updated fifth edition of the guide.

Here you will find 101 slow places to go: restaurants, bars, beach bars and ice cream parlours that are all committed to biodiversity and responsibility. Of these 101 places, 29 are our “Snails” – four more than in past editions. These places work hard on all fronts to offer food in ways that promote diversity, inclusivity and conscious consumption.

We also give credit to the people that are doing an excellent job of showcasing great natural wines.

The places you’ll find in the guide are all striving to get back our future for us, reminding us to have the seasons in mind when we eat, highlighting the environmental and social impact of what we put in our bodies, and helping us politicise our choices when we shop for food and choose where to have a meal out. Let’s eat, learn and act! Let’s regenerate our food system for the common good, so that it is full of flavour and better, cleaner and fairer for everyone.
