What is the Barcelona Slow Food Guide 2026

Slow Food Barcelona celebrates this year the 20th anniversary of its foundation and the 10th anniversary of the Mercat de la Terra, a well-established space that, from the very beginning, has been a living school of sustainability and commitment. Over time, the Market has become a meeting point where farmers, producers, chefs and citizens join forces to build a new way of eating and understanding life.

This guide is another initiative by Slow Food Barcelona through which we focus on the plate as a tool for transformation, thanks to the work of the chefs who are part of it. They raise their pots in defense of local seeds, living territories, and cultures at risk.
True gastronomic innovation will be that which places creativity at the service of food justice. The future of food must be in the hands of those who understand that eating is a right, a political act, and a way of caring for the planet.

What is at stake is not only what we put on our plates, but how we choose to live. And that choice is renewed every day, each time we sit down at the table — whether at home or in restaurants like those featured in this edition.
